Sure, we like the classic Milan cocktail, the Negroni, just fine. But sometimes the combo of gin, vermouth, and Campari can be a little too much.
So when it’s warmer out, we turn to the Americano Cocktail, basically, a Negroni made with sparkling water in place of the gin. It’s crazily refreshing so it’s really perfect in the midsummer heat.
Classic Americano Cocktail Recipe
- 1 1/2 ounces Campari
- 1 1/2 ounces sweet vermouth
- Chilled club soda or seltzer water
- Ice cubes
- orange sliced
- Prepare and Serve the Cocktail: Pour the Campari and vermouth into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with soda, stir, garnish with the orange slice, and serve.
