Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 6, 2026
Last updated: November 2026

This policy explains how Salt & Wind Travel LLC (“Salt & Wind,” “we,” “us”), 131 Manzanita Rd., Unit 4, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546, handles consumer health data under the consumer health data laws of Washington (the My Health My Data Act, RCW 19.373), Nevada (SB 370, NRS chapter 603A), and wherever else this kind of law applies. Our Privacy Policy covers everything else.

What we collect and why

When we plan travel for you, we collect health information that a trip needs: food allergies and medical dietary needs, medical conditions (including pregnancy) or medications that affect travel, and mobility or accessibility needs. We use it only to plan and book the travel you ask for, so that hotels, restaurants, guides, and transport providers can accommodate you, and, if you agree, to remember your needs for future trips.

How we process it

We keep it with your inquiry, client, and trip records, in email, team messages, and call notes, using the service providers listed below, and we use it only for the purposes above.

Before November 2, 2026, some of our internal notes about why inquiries did or did not become trips also recorded health details. We have stopped doing this, and we are removing those details from those notes.

Where it comes from

From you, in our inquiry and client intake forms, by email or message, or on calls; from the lead traveler, for companions; and from a parent or guardian, for a child. If you include health, allergy, dietary, or accessibility details in an inquiry or on an early call, we use them only to respond to you and plan your trip, and we ask for your consent before keeping them in your client profile. If you are traveling with someone, the lead traveler may tell us your needs with your permission. For the trip they are on, we use the health details the lead traveler shares with a companion’s permission only for that trip, and share them only with the recipients listed below. Until the companion gives us their own consent to keep them for future trips, we keep them only with that trip’s records. A parent or guardian consents for a child traveler under 18, and we keep a child’s health details only with that trip’s records.

Who we share it with

We share the categories of consumer health data above (allergy and dietary needs, medical conditions, including pregnancy, or medications that affect travel, and mobility and accessibility needs) only with these categories of recipients:

  • the suppliers your trip needs: hotels, restaurants, tour operators, guides, and transport providers;
  • our host agency, when a booking goes through it;
  • our service providers, which hold or process it for us: our form, automation, and customer management providers; our email and document storage providers; AI services that work for us under contract and help us read and answer inquiries, prepare notes, draft messages, and plan trips; our workplace messaging provider, for health details in inquiry summaries and messages among our team; our call and note-taking providers, only when everyone on the call agrees; and our internal tool and code-hosting providers, for older internal notes that we are still removing; and
  • others, only where the law requires us to disclose it.

We have no affiliates. We do not sell consumer health data.

Tracking

The health information described here is collected only on travel.saltandwind.com and in travel planning, which carry no advertising, and we never share it with advertising partners. We do not allow third parties, other than the service providers listed above, to collect it through our sites. We do not use your browsing on our websites to infer health information.

Your rights

Where these laws apply, you can ask us to:

  • confirm whether we collect or share your consumer health data, and see it, with a list of the companies we shared it with and how to contact them;
  • correct it: tell us or your planner and we update it;
  • withdraw your consent, or ask us to stop collecting or sharing it; and
  • delete it, except where the law allows us to keep it. We delete it within 30 days of verifying your request and tell the suppliers, our host agency, and the service providers that received it. Copies in backups are deleted within six months.

Make a request by emailing privacy@saltandwind.com. You can also withdraw your consent or correct your details by telling your planner. Before we act on a request to see or delete your data, we verify that it comes from you, for example by confirming through the email address we have on file. We respond within 45 days; if we need up to 45 more, we will tell you why within the first 45. Requests are free, except that we may charge a reasonable fee for, or decline, requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, where the law allows. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our decision or by emailing privacy@saltandwind.com with the subject “Appeal”; we will answer in writing within 45 days, with no extension, and if we deny the appeal, we include the contact information for the Attorney General of your state. Changes to this policy
