Okay, yes, one of our favorite things about the holiday season is concocting new cocktails to serve to our friends. But we like making nonalcoholic treats just as much. For our latest Friends Who Fete party year we served this wintry twist on a traditional Italian soda recipe made with homemade cranberry syrup, cinnamon syrup, and club soda!
Make The Cranberry Simple Syrup: Combine the cranberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium-high, stirring constantly, until cranberries just start to burst, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool completely. Strain to remove the cranberries.
The simple syrup can be made up to 2 weeks in advance. Store refrigerated in an airtight container until ready to use.
Make The Cinnamon Italian Soda: Mix together the cranberry simple syrup and the cinnamon syrup in a tall glass, top with ice then top with about 2/3 cup soda water. Stir then garnish with a cinnamon stick or some skewered cranberries.
