This Ojo Rojo Smoky Michelada Beer Cocktail recipe, is an easy recipe for a smoky take on an Ojo Rojo cocktail aka a Michelada with Clamato juice added!
Ground chipotle chile powderlike Tajín chile-lime seasoning, for rimming glasses
1/2teaspoonhoneyplus more for rimming glasses
Ice
1/4cupchilled tomato juiceor Clamato juice
1tablespoonfreshly squeezed lime juice
12ouncesamber Mexican beersuch as Negra Modelo
11/2 to 2 teaspoonsChipotle hot saucesuch as Chipotle Tabasco sauce
1teaspoonWorcestershire sauce(gluten-free if desired)
Dashlow-sodium soy sauceor Maggi seasoning or gluten-free tamari
Instructions
Make The Chile Salt: Mix together salt and chile powder in a wide, shallow dish to cover the bottom. Dip the rims of two rocks glasses in the honey then dip in the salt mixture to coat. Fill the glasses with ice and set them aside.
Make The Michelada: Combine the Clamato juice, lime juice, beer, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and soy sauce (or Maggi) in a pitcher and mix to combine. Taste and add more hot sauce or sweetener as desired. Pour into the prepared glasses and serve.
