This month we're looking forward to making the most of the last days of winter while embracing the start of Spring. And our fellow food-travel friends are doing the same with Catherine of Weelicious heading to the cliffs of Amalfi, Molly of My Name is Yeh celebrating St. Pat's in Chicago, and Courtney of Courtney Scott booking it to the beaches of Hawaii.
Click on for a look at what they're looking ahead to then share your adventures with us using the #swsociety hashtag.
If I could go anywhere right now, it'd be Ravello, Italy. We went there on our honeymoon and stayed at the Hotel Caruso. Ravello is a secret hideaway on the Amalfi Coast. It’s set in the hills above the ocean and has some of the most incredible handmade pottery studios you’ve ever seen.
There are a ton of reasons to go: for the incredible music festival, the views, or for the southern Italian cuisine. The food is not to be missed from sipping limoncello and savor ingscoops of artisan gelato to pizza and pasta, preferably with fresh seafood from the region.
We'd drive by the green Chicago river, eat green bagels from New York Bagel and Bialy, and make homemade Shamrock Shakes. And maybe also green eggs and ham. The goal would be to eat as many green foods as possible, vegetables don't count
I've been dreaming of getting back to Hawaii for a bit of digital detoxing and nature. Spending laidback days learning to surf and exploring waterfalls and volcanoes then chilled-out nights watching the stars on the beach. Maybe I'd see my first whale. Bottom line is that Hawaii just feels good, especially after the winter we've had.
Ever since my last trip to Hawaii I've been salivating at the thought of poke. We ate it at any chance we could and some of the best poke we tried was from the local supermarket, Foodland. Yes, they have an entire bar dedicated to poke bowls. It's my idea of paradise.
