Sometimes a holiday is so big you need a pre-party, like, say, with the case of Thanksgiving. It's a party so nice, I say we should celebrate it twice -- once with friends and once with family. This year I'm kicking off the holiday with a Friendsgiving with some of my favorite food friends here online and we're sharing some of of favorite Thanskgiving recipes for you to consider for the big day this week.
There's quite the spread so I'm keeping it easy with one of my Thanksgiving classics, this Roasted Squash and Pepita Pesto Dip, which fits almost all shapes and sizes since it's free, free, free -- as in gluten, dairy, nut, and grain free.
As our family has expanded, it's also gotten to be more and more diverse in eating so we've evolved our Thanskgiving from our classic Green Jell-O recipe to things like this Squash and Pepita Pesto Dip and even though I'm spending this Thanksgiving out west in Hawaii, this dish will be sure to make the journey with me!
This recipe is part of a virtual Friendsgiving hosted by the fabulous Renee Shuman of Will Frolic for Food and she gathered us for this shindig so be sure to check out all the participants and the food we brought!

Prize: To help you celebrate Thanksgiving, I'm giving away (1) jar of J.Q. Dickinson Sea Salt from West Virginia. For more info on them, check out this video:
Why did we choose them? Suffice it to say they're a 7th generation salt-making family who harvests an all-natural salt by hand, from an ancient ocean trapped below the Appalachian Mountains of the Kanawha Valley in West Virginia. I mean, just the thought of salt from an ancient ocean makes our culinary hearts swoon!
