Mari Jamadi Shares What To Pack For Hawaii

Table of Contents

When it comes to travel, packing separates the women from the gals.

There are those who look as stylish on the road as they do at home and those ladies? They give us major style envy.

So, we’re asking them to give us a look inside their luggage to see what they take where. And we’re starting with the Mari Jamadi (aka Nomadic Habit) who knows a thing or two about how to do laidback luxe thanks to the miles she’s clocked behind the lens and on the road.

Ever since I went to Kaua’i for work in 2009, I was dying to return because I didn’t get a chance to really explore the island in full. My camera was dying to get a handle on untamed raw beauty of Kaua’i and I was looking for a relaxing week to balance my hectic travel schedule and life. The Palmwood was the perfect place to unwind.

What To Pack For Kaua’i

When it comes to packing for tropical locales, I try to keep it as light as possible, bringing only what I need and only what I love.

Stylish (But Practical) Swimsuit

Coast by Coast is a pop up swim shop housed in a VW bus. It can’t get any more cute. This Mara Hoffman suit was picked up straight from the van. I packed this suit that worked perfect in the tropics because it had me feeling like a jungle babe.

Turkish Towel

When I head to a tropical locale that I know will include several beach days, I always opt for a Turkish towel that you can lay on and lounge, or wrap around for warmth. This Roots & Soul towel is made in Nicaragua and I pack it always.

Colorful Romper

You can never go wrong with a cute romper when on the go. This Show Me Your Mumu romper was perfect for my Kaua’i trip because I blended into the landscape and kept cool at the same time.

Key Accessories

When packing light, it’s always important to pack a few favorite accessories for those times you need to dress it up. These raw cuts from Wish Cuenta are my favorite picks that are subtle, simple, beautiful, and keep me balanced.

Slip-On Shoes

I pack these shoes everywhere I go. Not only are they comfortable, and stylish, the bold blue color always pops wherever I go. Not to mention the handmade quality will have me packing these in suitcases for a lifetime.

Underwater Camera

As a photographer, I am always thinking about how I will best capture a place. When headed to a location that has clear waters, I like to pack my underwater film Canon camera to snap a few shots just under the waves.

Lightweight Pants

Once I fell in love with Matter Prints pants, there was no going back. I have several pairs that I travel with. They are lightweight, handmade, and 100% stylish. They are the perfect must have item when traveling because you can pair them with casual options, or dress them up for a night out.
